A walk on the wildside

SOUTH LUANGWA WITH THE BUSHCAMP COMPANY

This 7 night safari to South Luangwa with The Bushcamp Company is designed to offer a diverse and immersive wildlife experience. This safari combines the comfort of a central lodge, focusing on game drives, with the adventure of Bushcamps, which emphasise walking safaris. Choose a mix of walking and game drives to suit your preferences. While the primary focus in the bush camps is walking, game drives can be arranged if all guests agree. However, if there is a split preference, walking safaris take precedence.

Despite being called ‘camps,’ these accommodations blend traditional safari charm with modern luxury. The Bushcamp Company is committed to integrating local communities into camp operations, ensuring the preservation of the rich culture, wildlife, and environment that make South Luangwa truly special.

A walking safari in South Luangwa pairs perfectly with other Zambian highlights such as the Lower Zambezi National Park or Victoria Falls.

This safari has a last minute deal, with big savings to be had. At the start or end of the safari season, stays are arranged at Bilimungwe and Kapamba Camps, the only Bushcamp Company camps open from March to December due to their sandy, non-waterlogged locations. You can add a second or third night at Mfuwe Lodge for additional game drive opportunities.

Headquartered at Mfuwe Lodge, renowned for its annual parade of elephants that stroll through the lobby between October and mid-December, The Bushcamp Company excels in delivering exceptional and distinctive safari experiences.
Established in 1999 by Andrea Bizzaro and Andy Hogg, the company initially brought together four camps in South Luangwa National Park: Kuyenda, Chamilandu, Chindeni, and Bilimungwe. In 2005, they expanded with Kapamba Camp on the banks of the river of the same name, and in 2008, they completed their portfolio with Zingulila Camp on the nearby Kampamba River.

As the sole operator in the remote southern section of South Luangwa, The Bushcamp Company’s camps offer unmatched seclusion, stunning vistas, and immersive safari activities. Guests can enjoy intimate, exclusive experiences, including walking safaris in the birthplace of this adventure, close wildlife encounters, and canoe transfers between camps.
