Day by Day itinerary
Days 01 to 04 – nThambo Tree Camp – Klaserie Private Nature Reserve
Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be transferred to nThambo Tree Camp in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. This intimate, eco-friendly camp has just five elevated treehouse-style rooms, each offering panoramic views of the surrounding bush. The rooms feature comfortable en-suite facilities and a canvas front that can be fully opened, allowing the sights and sounds of the Klaserie to become part of your room.
Spend your days exploring the Klaserie in search of the Big Five, wild dogs, cheetahs, and a rich variety of other wildlife. The main area of the camp includes a small splash pool often visited by elephants, a cosy lounge, and a boma for fireside evenings under the stars. The camp’s location ensures both privacy and easy access to exceptional wildlife sightings, making it a perfect base for a Kruger Safari.
Days 04 to 06 – Shindzela Tented Camp – Timbavati Private Game Reserve
After yoAfter your morning game drive and brunch, you will be transferred by private vehicle through the Klaserie and Timbavati Reserves to Shindzela Tented Camp. Nestled in the heart of the Timbavati, this eco-friendly camp blends comfort and authenticity, with solar-powered facilities and semi-open en-suite tents beneath thatch roofs. Each tent has a small front deck, ideal for wildlife viewing in your own private space.
The camp features an open-plan lounge, bar, and dining area overlooking a waterhole that attracts a variety of animals throughout the day. A pool offers respite from the African sun, while the boma provides an unforgettable setting for dinners under the stars. Shindzela offers twice-daily game drives and immersive walking trails led by armed, experienced guides. These walks focus on the flora, fauna, and ecology of the Timbavati and typically last a few hours in the morning, offering a unique perspective on the wilderness.
Timbavati Private Game Reserve is renowned for its excellent wildlife viewing, with big cats, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of other species. Its diverse landscapes of riverine forests, open plains, and mopane woodlands create an ideal environment for a memorable safari experience.
On your final morning, enjoy breakfast before being transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your return flight to Johannesburg.
