On arrival in Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s safari havens, you will board a light aircraft flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta and the idyllic Duba Plains Camp for 3 nights at Duba Plains Camp. This is where famed NatGeo wildlife filmmakers Derek & Beverley Joubert have their base and is a prolific wildlife area in the Okavango Delta. Explore the vast savannah plains and network of pristine waterways on game drives, boat cruises and mokoro trips. Enjoy a night drive in search of the elusive nocturnal species. The area around Duba offers some of the best game viewing in all of Botswana.

Days 4 to 7 – Selinda Camp, Selinda Reserve

The Selinda Reserve is a huge, pristine and remote wilderness area north of the Okavango Delta where you will spend 3 nights at the newly rebuilt Selinda Camp on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. Enjoy the sight of hundreds of elephants in the dry season as well as regular sightings of the local wild dog pack and the Selinda Lion Pride.

Selinda is truly intimate, with unique and expansive tented suites. Private plunge pools set in decks overlooking the Selinda, a large ensuite bathroom and a private lounge area. Explore the Selinda Reserve on foot, on safari drives, boating when the water levels permit and more.

Days 7 to 10 – Xigera Safari Lodge, Moremi National Park

Xigera Safari Lodge is an absolutely gorgeous safari lodge set on a private concession in the Moremi National Park. A brand new camp that opened in late 2020, Xigera (“Kee-jera”) is part of The Red Carnation Collection. Wildlife in the heart of the Okavango Delta in the areas around Xigera is exceptional, expect to see the predators, especially leopards alongside the rarer animals like red lechwe, spotted-neck otters and more.

The spacious suites at Xigera are clad in flame-torched timber, with front row seats to the lagoon in front. Each suite is unique in its decor, sitting high on stilts to enhance the views. Each luxurious bathroom has both indoor and outdoor showers and that ever-important indulgent bath with a view. Day beds complete the private deck and spa treatments come to you.

Spend a night under the stars in the Baobab Treehouse, a short distance from the lodge. This incredibly sticking instruction towers over the floodplain with 3 levels: the bathroom, the bedroom and the open-air viewing deck at the top.
